Dodgers, Tigers have reportedly talked Ian Kinsler trade
Suddenly in the market for a starting second baseman, the Los Angeles Dodgers are showing interest in a certain four-time All-Star.
According to a report by Jon Morosi of MLB Network on Wednesday, the Dodgers and the Detroit Tigers have been in contact regarding the possibility of an Ian Kinsler trade (though Kinsler does possess a partial no-trade clause).

Kinsler, 34, enjoyed another productive season in 2016, batting .288/.348/.484 with 28 home runs, 83 RBIs, and 14 stolen bases while winning his first career Gold Glove Award at second base. He is due to make $11 million in 2017 and has a $10 million club option with a $5 million buyout clause for 2018 (per Spotrac).
The Dodgers are thin at second after trading Howie Kendrick to the Phillies earlier this month. Meanwhile, Chase Utley is a free agent this offseason as well. The Tigers have been showing at least some openness to the idea of trading their veterans recently, so perhaps there’s a potential match here.
