George Springer hamstring injury better than feared
The Houston Astros feared a significant hamstring injury for outfielder George Springer, but an MRI revealed that their fears were somewhat unfounded.
Manager A.J. Hinch said the Astros had gotten good news on Springer, and while he would still be out for a while, it wasn’t nearly as bad as initially feared.
Hinch said Springer injury “not as dramatic as we had feared.” He’s going to be out for a while but team got some better news today.

When Springer initially hurt himself chasing a popup Friday night, the prognosis sounded very ominous. The actual outcome isn’t great, but it certainly sounds like the Astros got off a bit easier than they feared they would. The hope now must be that Springer, who leads the AL with 17 home runs, is only out for a few weeks and no more than that.
