Klay Thompson’s brother Trayce will live with him after joining Athletics

Klay Trayce Thompson

The Thompsons are trying to turn Oakland into the City of Brotherly Love.

Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson told reporters on Thursday that his younger brother Trayce, an MLB outfielder, will live with him after being picked up on waivers Thursday by the Oakland Athletics. Here is what Klay had to say, according to Mark Medina of the Mercury News.

Trayce, 27, is in his third MLB season and holds a career batting average of .233 with 19 home runs and 50 RBIs between the Chicago White Sox and the Los Angeles Dodgers. He was claimed by Oakland on Thursday just two days after being claimed and then re-placed on waivers by the New York Yankees.

Getting picked up by the Athletics, who play right next door to his older brother’s team, is certainly a stroke of good fortune for Trayce. Hopefully the Thompsons don’t end up stealing each other’s parking spaces though, as that has apparently been a problem between the A’s and the Warriors lately.
