Luis Arraez apparently had a software update in the middle of Monday’s World Baseball Classic game.
The San Francisco Giants infielder Arraez was batting for his native Venezuela during Monday’s WBC semifinal against Italy at loanDepot Park in Miami, Fla. Arraez stepped up to bat in the top of the first inning against Italy’s Aaron Nola … but did not exactly have to do a lot of work.
On the first pitch of the at-bat, Arraez was taking all the way. It was so much so that Arraez … did not … even move … a single muscle … as Nola’s delivery fell on the outside of the plate for a ball.
Here is the funny video.

Arraez, who had a runner on first and one out at the time, would end up suffering some bad luck from there. On the very next pitch from Nola, Arraez actually swung … but lined out to center field and ended up getting his teammate Maikel Garcia doubled off first base as well for an inning-ending double play.
The three-time batting champion Arraez, 28, is actually quite excellent with the lumber and is known for his innate ability to put the ball in play. But that had to be the worst “bro is frozen” moment in sports since this one from the NFL a couple of years ago.
