Max Scherzer is all about consistency, even when it comes to his celebratory goggles.
Scherzer has a condition called heterochromia iridum that leads to two different colored irises in his eyes: his right is blue and his left is brown.
When the Washington Nationals celebrated Tuesday that they had clinched a playoff berth, Scherzer’s goggles matched his eye color.

You love to see it!
Scherzer pitched the second game of a doubleheader against the Phillies. He went six innings of four-run ball for the win, striking out 10. He’s now 11-7 with a 2.92 ERA after missing time in August due to a back injury that is still giving him trouble. The Nats will hope he is at his best when the postseason begins.
The Nats look likely to face the Milwaukee Brewers in the Wild Card Game.
