The Washington Nationals’ current center field platoon of Ben Revere and Michael Taylor is hitting just a combined .225 on the year, and the team may have just the guy in mind to solve their dilemma.
According to a report by Jon Morosi of MLB Network on Tuesday, the Nationals are showing interest in acquiring Colorado Rockies center fielder Charlie Blackmon.

With the Rockies once again struggling to compete this year, the 30-year-old Blackmon is a definite potential trade chip. Washington had registered interest in him as recently as last December.
Blackmon has been keeping his foot on the gas pedal in 2016, hitting .305/.368/.481 with 12 home runs and 43 runs batted in. The addition of another lefty contact hitter to balance the Nats’ lineup and help set the table for reigning NL MVP Bryce Harper would go a long way towards keeping Washington in serious title contention.
