Top Reds prospect Hunter Greene done for season with UCL injury
Top Cincinnati Reds prospect Hunter Greene will not pitch again this season after being diagnosed with a sprained UCL.
The Reds announced that Greene will begin rehab immediately, and the hope is that he will be able to avoid Tommy John surgery.

UCL issues are never a good thing, and can often be a precursor to Tommy John surgery. One of the sport’s leading stars has dealt with something similar recently.
Greene, the second overall pick in the 2017 MLB Draft, was one of the standout talents in July’s Futures Game. Hopefully rehab works, because it would be awful for Greene and the Reds if he needed a more significant procedure.
