Ronald Acuña Jr. left Tuesday’s Atlanta Braves game after being hit by a pitch.
Acuña was batting against Pittsburgh Pirates relief pitcher Colin Holderman in the top of the sixth inning with a runner on first and one out. Holderman threw in on the Braves star, who backed up his elbow and got hit by the pitch around his elbow pad.

Acuña left the game and was replaced by Forrest Wall.
The Braves leadoff man was 1-or-3 prior to exiting the game. He had led off the game with his 26th home run of the season.
Acuña, who is in his sixth MLB season, is having his best year. He is batting a career-high .339 with a 1.003 OPS. His 28 doubles and 53 stolen bases are already career-high marks.
The Braves will hope that their MVP candidate doesn’t have to miss much time.
