Spanish radio call of Braves’ game-ending double play was awesome
One of the most exciting endings to an MLB playoff game in recent memory gets even better when you listen to the Spanish-language call of the play.
The Atlanta Braves won Game 2 of the NLDS against the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday in thrilling fashion. With the Braves nursing a one-run lead in the ninth inning, Michael Harris made a leaping catch at the wall to rob Nick Castellanos of extra bases and then whipped a throw back to the infield that eventually got Bryce Harper doubled off first base to end the game. Perhaps even more impressive than the play though was the call delivered by the Braves’ Spanish radio team.
Journalist Timothy Burke shared the awesome audio (synced up with the TBS television broadcast of the play). Take a listen.

The best part of that call definitely had to be the second announcer spawning out of nowhere like The Undertaker once the double play was turned. They really captured the exhilaration of the entire sequence there.
Harris (for the catch) and Austin Riley (for corralling the throw and quickly whipping it over to first) both made incredible plays there to help knot up the NLDS at one game apiece. But the runner Harper is also taking some significant heat for that blunder on the basepaths.
