Yasiel Puig furious after Pedro Strop hits him with pitch
Yasiel Puig was furious with Pedro Strop after being hit by a pitch in Saturday’s game, which led to both benches clearing.
Puig seemed to be expecting he would be hit by Strop on a 3-0 pitch and was nailed in the leg. He took a few steps to the mound afterwards and began barking and pointing at Strop. He even spiked his helmet and dropped his bat and then was held back as he got closer to the mound.

Benches and bullpens cleared from both the Cincinnati Reds and Chicago Cubs, though no punches were thrown and the players didn’t actually fight.

The only thing that happened was Puig and Strop trading words from a distance.
Hitting a batter on a 3-0 pitch is a cheap move by a pitcher. It’s like taking a pound of flesh for a hitter you know you’re going to end up walking anyway.
This is the second dust-up Puig has been involved in within the NL Central this season as he also got into it with the Pirates.
