Yu Darvish wants to let you know that any reports saying he has agreed to a deal with the Chicago Cubs is fake news.
On Thursday, Barstool Carl from Barstool Sports sent the following tweet, which seemed like a joke, but also enough for people to take it seriously.

Either way, Darvish came in to let everyone know the truth of the matter.

So there you have it. This doesn’t mean Darvish won’t be signing with the Cubs, it just means any report that he has already agreed to join the team is false.
The free agent pitcher has met with the Cubs and Houston Astros this week. After Shohei Ohtani and Giancarlo Stanton found new teams, Darvish is the next logical domino to fall in free agency.
