Smith was the No. 16 pick in the draft and dealt to Philly as part of the Mikal Bridges trade. The former Texas Tech one-and-done player saw his draft stock surge, which led him to become a pretty high first-round selection. This is a tough break for him. It’s also a bad break for Philly, which has now seen multiple first-round picks deal with foot injuries early in their careers.
