The Boston Celtics are doing everything they can to retain Al Horford, but according to one report, it looks like those efforts will be for naught.
According to Steve Bulpett of the Boston Herald, a source close to Horford said that the center would not return to the Celtics despite the team’s effort to clear cap space to facilitate his return.

The Celtics are reportedly working on a series of sign-and-trade deals, including one involving Terry Rozier, to get this done. Whether Horford doesn’t think the Celtics can afford him or simply doesn’t want to return is up in the air. At the moment, though, it seems the door is closed on Horford returning to Boston.
