Julian Reese played college basketball at Maryland. However, he went undrafted in 2025 and signed with the Los Angeles Lakers for the Summer League.
Reese then signed with the Toronto Raptors on an Exhibit 10 deal after failing to make the Lakers roster, and he spent the 2025-26 season with the Raptors’ G League affiliate.
The Washington Wizards then acquired Reese, and he made his NBA debut in March with Washington, and his sister was in attendance.
This offseason, Reese was on the move again. He was part of the deal that sent Denver Nuggets star Peyton Watson to the Cleveland Cavaliers, and Reese went to Denver but was quickly waived by the team.
Reese’s best game came on March 25 against the Utah Jazz, when he scored 26 points with 17 rebounds in 30 minutes, so the 23-year-old has shown some promise. Last season, he appeared in 13 NBA games for the Wizards, averaging 11.8 points with 10.5 rebounds.
