Cleveland Cavaliers guard Iman Shumpert was arrested for driving while under the influence last month. While the team is obviously not pleased about the arrest, one report claims the incident is not the only reason the Cavs are concerned about Shumpert.
According to Terry Pluto of The Cleveland Plain Dealer, the DUI arrest is “not huge” and the Cavs are “concerned about Shumpert in general.” Pluto made those comments while speaking on camera, so he later wanted to clarify in writing.
In a follow-up column, Pluto wrote about some of the supposed concerns the Cavaliers have about Shumpert’s life off the court.

The Cavaliers guard also was arrested for a DUI for being high on marijuana in August.
Are there reasons for concern about Shumpert? I briefly discussed that in a video earlier in the week. I’ve since done more checking, and there are indeed some issues.
Taylor, who recently appeared with Shumpert in a racy Kanye West music video, revealed this week that her and Iman got secretly married. Shumpert has dabbled in rapping himself, and he is said to have many friends in the music industry.
Another interesting detail that Pluto noted is that the broken wrist Shumpert showed up to training camp with last year was supposedly suffered during a game of pickup basketball. As Dan Feldman of Pro Basketball Talk notes, it’s unclear if the Cavs are skeptical about how he sustained that injury.
Shumpert did something last year that every man hopes he never has to do, but it doesn’t sound like that has anything to do with whatever “drama” Pluto is referencing. In any event, this will be a story to watch over the fall.
