With the Dallas Mavericks’ season officially over, it’s time for forward Chandler Parsons to turn on his summer charm yet again.
Parsons said on Tuesday that he will try to recruit Rockets impending free agent center (and former teammate) Dwight Howard to Dallas this offseason, even going so far as to say that Howard is leaving Houston, per Dwain Price of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
Parsons said he will try and get Dwight Howard to come here after he (Parsons ) re-signs with the #Mavs. He said Howard is leaving Houston.

The 27-year-old Parsons does, however, have his own potential free agency to worry about as he can decline his $16 million player option for 2016-17 and become an unrestricted free agent. Reports last month suggested that the Orlando Magic could possibly swoop in for Parsons’ talents this summer.
But assuming that Parsons does wind up re-signing with Dallas, he has had a formidable history of triumph as a recruiter. Parsons helped lure Howard to Houston in the first place back in 2013 during his own tenure as a Rocket, and came within one botched moratorium period of reeling in DeAndre Jordan for the Mavericks last offseason.
Still, with the Mavericks reportedly unwilling to go into max contract territory for Howard, it remains to be seen if Parsons’ charisma will extend to the checkbook of owner Mark Cuban.
