David Lee, Spurs agree to two-year deal
Here’s one way for David Lee to stick it to his old teammates in Golden State.
According to a report by Marc Stein of ESPN on Thursday, Lee, the ex-Warriors, has agreed to sign a two-year deal with the San Antonio Spurs worth $3.2 million. The deal comes with a player option for Year 2.

The two-time All-Star averaged 7.8 rebounds per game and 5.5 rebounds per game in 16.4 minutes per game in 2015-16, splitting time between the Boston Celtics and the Dallas Mavericks. Lee is entering into his age-33 campaign but should blend nicely into the Spurs’ culture with his high conversion rate at the rim, his work on the glass, and his willingness to make the extra pass.
There was some talk recently that Lee might return to his old stomping grounds in Golden State. But the Spurs had the greater need after losing Tim Duncan, Boris Diaw, Boban Marjanovic, and David West this offseason, so Lee should be a fine frontcourt cog for their rotation next season.
