The Sacramento Kings selected shooting guard Nik Stauskas with the eighth overall pick in this year’s draft. Thus began the life of a rookie in the NBA.
As is the case in any sport, rookies are often the prey of the team’s veterans. It’s been that way forever and isn’t changing anytime soon.
Stauskas was recently the victim of a lurking DeMarcus Cousins, who seems like he would relish any and all opportunities to have a little fun with a first-year player. Cousins posted the above photo to his Instagram account Wednesday of Stauskas taking a picture of what appears to be his per diem. Cousins included the following caption:
“Caught the rook @nikstauskas11”
As Kevin Millar would say on Intentional Talk, “Got Heeeem!”
