LeBron James ended speculation about his offseason landing spot when he finally decided to take his talents to the City of Brotherly Love and join the Philadelphia 76ers. It is arguably the biggest news of the summer in the NBA, but it was hard to tell based on how former NBA superstar Derrick Rose reacted to it.
During an interview with Fox Chicago Sports, the former NBA Most Valuable Player got candid when asked about his thoughts on James signing with the 76ers. These days, Rose appears to have as much interest in basketball as he does in going to the dentist.
“I’m out of the game. Happy for him, but that’s not my life no more,” the three-time NBA All-Star admitted.

Rose last played in the NBA during the 2023-24 NBA season with the Memphis Grizzlies before hanging up his sneakers for good. He’s living a life that no longer revolves around basketball, so his seemingly unfazed reaction to the blockbuster news about James was, to some extent, understandable.
But Rose can expect the media to keep asking him anything about the NBA, given the huge impact he had on the league and its fans.
For what it’s worth, Derrick Rose and James played a short time together as teammates with the Cleveland Cavaliers during the 2017-18 season.
