Frank Ntilikina has confidence of new Knicks president Leon Rose?
New York Knicks guard Frank Ntilikina may be getting thrown a life jacket by his team’s new regime.
Knicks beat writer Ian Begley of SportsNet New York said on Wednesday that he does not think new president Leon Rose will be shopping Ntilikina like the team had been doing previously. Begley adds though that he does not believe Ntilikina or any other Knick will be untouchable if the right deal comes along.
The 21-year-old Ntilikina, the Knicks’ lottery pick in 2017, has been much vilified in recent years for his perceived lack of development, particularly on offense. Still, he made 26 starts for the team before the season was suspended and has one more year left on his rookie deal.
Theoretically, Ntilikina’s fangs on the defensive end (aided by his titanic 7-foot-1 wingspan) give him enough upside for the Knicks to keep him around for a little while longer. Another teammate of his may not be so lucky though.
