One reporter drew Giannis Antetokounmpo’s ire after Friday’s game between the Milwaukee Bucks and New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden in Manhattan, N.Y.
The Bucks star was in a serious mood as he spoke to reporters in the locker room following his team’s 116-94 blowout loss. Antetokounmpo called out the Bucks’ lack of effort, claiming his squad just did not compete enough to deserve to win the contest.
While Antetokounmpo was in the middle of lamenting how many wide-open threes his team gave up, the two-time MVP suddenly snapped at someone off-camera for supposedly looking disinterested. It was later confirmed that it was a New York reporter.
You can watch the fiery interaction below (1:07 mark).
“Hey man, if you don’t want to be here, you can leave,” Antetokounmpo told the reporter. “If you don’t want to be here, you can leave. I’m being honest with you.”
Giannis: "Came to New York lost by 30. We don't compete, are we ok with not competing? I'm not OK w that s*t"

"If you not frustrated with losing GTFOH"— 🦌💫 (@GiannisWorld) November 9, 2024
Giannis was evidently frustrated even before calling out the reporter. He had stated that the Bucks were coming off three straight games where Antetokounmpo felt the team had given maximum effort. Milwaukee had recently lost back-to-back games to the undefeated Cleveland Cavaliers by a combined three points before a dominant win on Thursday against the Utah Jazz.
Antetokounmpo was the Bucks’ lone scorer with over 20 points in the loss to the Knicks. He tallied 24 points, 12 rebounds, and 2 assists on 11/21 shooting from the field.
