Harrison Barnes critical of Mark Cuban’s comments about basketball culture
Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban’s recent comments about how young American basketball players only “learn how to taunt and put together mixtapes” have not gone down well with one of his own players.
Cuban recently made comments critical of the current generation of American basketball players, telling Eurohoops that young European players are better because they are more focused on on-court work.

Cuban’s comments were controversial, and were taken by many as criticism of African-American basketball culture. In fact, one Mavericks player, forward Harrison Barnes, repudiated them on the record on Saturday.

It’s unlikely to be the last we hear about Cuban’s comments. They’re obviously off the mark and deeply insensitive, and coupled with recent workplace issues, they paint an unflattering picture of the Mavericks’ owner.
