Investigators release chilling drone footage from Kobe Bryant crash site

Kobe Bryant

The National Transportation and Safety Board has begun the process of combing through the crash site from Sunday’s fatal helicopter accident to learn as much as possible about what went wrong, and the agency released some footage on Tuesday that is difficult to look at.

The NTSB shared drone footage from the Calabasas hillside where the helicopter carrying Kobe Bryant, his 13-year-old daughter and seven others crashed. There aren’t many words that can be used to describe the scene.

It’s impossible to imagine what the people on board went through and the pain their families and loved ones are experiencing.

While preliminary findings could be released in the coming days, the full investigation into the crash may take a year or more. We know from the audio that was released from the minutes before the accident that visibility was an issue, and all signs point to that having played a role in the tragedy.
