Jalen Green did not take it easy on himself after his Houston Rockets were eliminated from the playoffs on Sunday night.

The Rockets lost 103-89 to the Golden State Warriors in the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, in Game 7 of their Western Conference first-round playoff series. Green was the Rockets’ leading scorer in the regular season with 21 points per game. However, he averaged just 13.3 points per game during the postseason, and scored just 8 points in Game 7.

Green was clearly disappointed with himself and did not hold back when talking with reporters.

“Besides that one game, sh-t, straight sh-t. I got to be better,” a dejected Green said.

The one game to which Green alluded came in Game 2 when he scored 38 points and made eight three-pointers. Aside from that, his high point total for any other game in the series was 12.

Green made just 37.2 percent of his shots in the series, which is lower than the 42.3 percent he shot during the regular season.

Green helped lead the Rockets to the No. 2 seed in the West and the team’s first playoff appearance since 2020. But the former No. 2 overall pick did not play well in his first postseason, and that will likely weigh on him heavily over the offseason.
