Jaylen Brown takes shot at Stephen A. Smith with his Celtics parade attire
Friday’s championship parade provided a great platform for Boston Celtics players to fire back at critics, and Jaylen Brown fully embraced the opportunity.
Brown wore a very telling shirt while participating in Friday’s parade. Brown’s black shirt bore a simple message of “state your source.”

What’s the significance?
Last month, Brown directed those words at ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith after Smith, citing a “league source,” said Brown’s ego and arrogance hurt his marketability. Those remarks sparked a good amount of backlash, including from Brown himself.

At the time, Smith tried to pass off the claim by saying he was just the messenger. That obviously did not placate Brown either, and he had every right to call Smith out on Friday the way he did.
Brown has definitely been paying attention to the doubters. After winning Finals MVP to go with his first championship, he has earned that opportunity.
