Jonas Jerebko gets flagrant 1 foul for clobbering Zach Collins

Jonas Jerebko was assessed a flagrant 1 foul after clobbering Zach Collins early in the second quarter of Saturday’s playoff game between his Golden State Warriors and the Portland Trail Blazers.

Collins received a pass down low and was getting ready to go up with the ball. Jerebko landed on him swatted at his face.

Jerebko’s contact was deemed excessive, which is why the flagrant foul was called.

Jerebko entered the game to start the second quarter along with other Warriors reserves. Steve Kerr is trying to get his team plenty of rest and had gone 11-deep with his rotation in Game 3 of the Western Conference finals. Such a deep rotation is fairly unusual for a team in the playoffs, but Kerr has the confidence in his guys and doesn’t want to wear his best players out, which is his reason for the rest.

Jerebko has averaged 7.6 minutes per game during the psotseason.
