Report: Jordan Bell charged $15 candle to Mike Brown as joke
Jordan Bell was suspended by the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday for conduct detrimental to the team, and now we have an understanding of what led to it.
The Athletic’s Sam Amick and Anthony Slater reported late on Wednesday some details about what led to the suspension. They reported that Bell had charged something to Mike Brown’s hotel room, leaving the assistant coach to pay for it. The Warriors investigated and learned that Bell was behind it and also discovered it wasn’t the first time Bell had done something similar. That’s why they decided to suspend him.
A Twitter user named @MGRADS, whose story was liked and retweeted by Bell, shared what he said was the real story. He says Bell started charging small items to teammates’ rooms as revenge for them doing the same to him.
So, as all teams do IN EVERY PROFESSIONAL SPORT, the vets mess with the rookies because it’s just a “rite of passage” to say the least. So what had happened was last year, when he was a rookie, his teammates would put LITTLE THINGS on his room, candy bars, sodas, etc etc

So J Bell starting getting people back as a JOKE. He’d charge Wi-fi to KD or Q Cook’s room AS A JOKE(WiFi is usually free). It was nothing major EVER & it’s a INSIDE TEAM JOKE, so everyone knew about it.

The insider says Bell charged a $15 candle to Brown’s room on the team’s last road trip, but Brown wasn’t in on the joke and wasn’t happy about it, thinking it had been going on for a while. The insider says the story was supposed to stay in-house but someone leaked it to the press.
THE STORY WASNT SUPPOSED TO GET OUT, but you know those Ivy Leaguers who don’t know about the culture decided to send a text out to a friend & it snowballed from there. So that’s all that happened. A CANDLE got him suspended.

The incident does sound minor. Maybe Bell’s previous incident with Steve Kerr played a role in the team deciding to discipline him.
