JR Smith took swipe at Kyrie Irving during Media Day
Now that he is on the Boston Celtics, Kyrie Irving is officially fair game for his former teammates on the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Speaking at Media Day on Monday, Cavs swingman JR Smith was asked what new additions Isaiah Thomas and Derrick Rose will bring to the table that Irving did not and responded with a bit of a swipe at his ex-backcourt partner.

Irving’s departure was obviously a hot topic for the Cavs during Media Day, but Smith might have been the only one to use it as an occasion for shade. He’s not wrong though, as Irving made clear he no longer wanted to be there. Thomas and Rose are two All-Star-caliber guards in their own right, so having their commitment to the team should help ease the blow of Irving’s exit.
