The Los Angeles Clippers have a chance to make the Golden State Warriors uncomfortable by forcing a Game 7 if they can take care of business at home on Friday night, but Kevin Durant does not seem too concerned about his team having a second consecutive rough game.
While speaking with reporters on Friday, Durant said he felt like the “perfect storm” allowed the Clippers to get the best of Golden State in Game 5, which LA won 129-121. Most assumed the Warriors would advance to the next round with another easy win at Oracle Arena, but Durant says their energy was not where it needed to be from the opening tip. Beware that he used some inappropriate language.

The Warriors are obviously a more talented team than the Clippers and should still be feeling confident, but things are a lot more interesting with Game 6 taking place in LA. If an egregious flop from Patrick Beverley worked on the road in Game 5, you have to wonder if the Clippers’ scrappy style of play will allow them to survive another game. As long as the Warriors don’t come out with “shi–y energy,” Durant believes they will be fine.
