Kyle Kuzma sued by man over alleged dog bite
Kyle Kuzma may need himself a pro bone-o lawyer.
TMZ Sports reported on Wednesday that the Washington Wizards forward is being sued by a man who alleges that he was “viciously” bitten by Kuzma’s dog earlier this year. According to the lawsuit details obtained by TMZ, the man, identified as Bernardo Tosto, says that he was on a plane with Kuzma near the Van Nuys airport in California on May 4. Tosto alleges that he was walking towards the cabin of the plane when he was suddenly bitten on the right arm by Kuzma’s dog.
The lawsuit claims that Tosto suffered “severe injuries” from the bite and that Kuzma should be held liable because he supposedly “did not take any action to secure the dog.” You can read TMZ Sports’ full report on the lawsuit here.
The timeline matches up since Kuzma’s Wizards failed to make the playoffs last year and were already in their offseason by early May. But from a legal perspective, the plaintiff seems unlikely to succeed unless he can prove that Kuzma already had prior knowledge of the dog’s dangerous propensities and failed to act accordingly.
Kuzma is entering his third season in Washington after agreeing to a new four-year, $102 million deal with the team over the summer. While a small chunk of that money might now be going to legal fees, Kuzma may be able to learn something from this fellow professional athlete who also once got sued over a dog incident.
