LA Sparks share brutal injury news about Cameron Brink
Cameron Brink’s standout rookie season is over just as quickly as it began.
The L.A. Sparks phenom Brink suffered a worrisome non-contact injury during Tuesday’s game against the Connecticut Sun. She was driving to the basket in the first quarter when her left leg gave out on her. Brink crumpled to the ground and stayed down for several seconds before getting to her feet. She hobbled straight to the bench though and eventually had to be carried to the locker room.
Here is the video.

The former Stanford All-American Brink, 22, was the Sparks’ No. 2 overall pick during this year’s WNBA Draft (after Caitlin Clark went to the Indiana Fever). Known primarily for her defense, the 6-foot-4 Brink had enjoyed a strong start to her professional career, averaging a well-rounded line of 7.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.1 steals, and 2.3 blocks per game in 15 appearances (all starts).
Brink, a New Balance athlete, had also further raised her profile in recent weeks thanks to some great viral moments with athletes from other sports. While the torn ACL diagnosis means that Brink’s rookie season is finished, she should hopefully be recovered in time for the start of the 2025 WNBA season next May.
