Report: Lakers among teams expected to pursue Enes Kanter

Enes Kanter

The Los Angeles Lakers could be assembling an all-Kentucky frontcourt duo.

Chris Haynes of Yahoo! Sports reported on Wednesday that the Lakers are among the teams that free agent big man Enes Kanter is expected to receive interest from. Haynes also mentions the Boston Celtics and the incumbent Portland Trail Blazers as other teams that are in the hunt.

Kanter, 27, is a strong interior presence on offense and a borderline elite rebounder, which are skills that would pair well with the newly-acquired fellow Wildcat Anthony Davis.

Granted, Kanter does have some negative history with LeBron James. But when you consider that the Lakers went out and signed the likes of Lance Stephenson and Rajon Rondo last summer, Kanter may be just the type of competitor that James and the rest of the team are looking for.
