LeBron James’ old post about Dan Hurley resurfaces amid Lakers links
LeBron James has apparently been an admirer of Dan Hurley for some time.
Reports emerged on Thursday that the Los Angeles Lakers are targeting the UConn head coach Hurley to become their next head coach.
Hurley, who has now led the Huskies to back-to-back national titles, is a surprise candidate (especially after all signs were pointing to a different frontrunner) but one whom the Lakers have apparently been targeting from the start of their coaching search.
In the wake of the news, an old post by the Lakers star James about Hurley resurfaced online.
Back in April, Hurley appeared on “The Old Man and the Three” podcast for an interview. James reacted to the Hurley interview with glowing praise.
“He’s so DAMN GOOD!!!” wrote James on X of Hurley. “Along with his staff. Super creative with their O! Love it.”

Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN also said Thursday that James is “impressed” with Hurley’s “sophisticated offensive actions.” The possibility of the Lakers drafting James’ son Bronny and Hurley and his staff overseeing Bronny’s development is also “intriguing” to James, Wojnarowski adds.
The four-time MVP James reportedly had some issues with the strategies of ex-Lakers head coach Darvin Ham. But from the looks of it, he has already been sold on Hurley for a good long while.
