The team’s fans are not the only ones embarrassed by the state of the Los Angeles Lakers right now. The team’s players are too, according to a reporter.
Yahoo’s Chris Haynes said in an interview on “The Spin” that he’s talked with Lakers players who are “embarrassed” by what’s going on with the team.

“It’s the Lakers organization as a whole right now … it’s a laughingstock right now,” Haynes said. “Just the way everything was handled. It’s really frustrating for people who are involved with the team, and certainly for some of the players I’ve talked to. They call it an embarrassment. I’m talking about players for the Lakers. They consider an embarrassment what’s going on, and it’s not the ideal situation to be in.”
This seems to be the theme of the moment for the Lakers. The franchise missed the postseason for the sixth straight season. Magic Johnson quit abruptly without telling anyone in advance. The team botched the hiring of Ty Lue. And now some of the team’s fans are protesting.
It’s ugly, and it’s no surprise the players feel embarrassed.
