Report: Bucks planning to sign recently waived guard
The Milwaukee Bucks reportedly have plans to sign a new guard in the near future.
Jevon Carter was waived by the Brooklyn Nets when they had to clear space to sign Goran Dragic. He is set to clear waivers on Wednesday and plans to sign with the Bucks, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Carter was a second-round pick by the Grizzlies in 2018. He averaged 3.6 points, 1.5 rebounds in 46 games for the Nets this season before being cut.
Carter would be the second guard to join the Bucks recently; they also signed DeAndre’ Bembray last week.
Milwaukee is trying to address its guard depth in response to a few recent moves. They traded Donte DiVincenzo to Sacramento as part of a 4-team deal also involving Marvin Bagley III. Pat Connaughton is also out a month due to hand surgery, while Grayson Allen and George Hill are dealing with injuries.
Carter could be set to play on Saturday against his former team.
If all goes as planned, Jevon Carter will be in Milwaukee later this week with the expectation of being ready to play vs. the #Nets on Saturday. https://t.co/sLtmqG1R3L
