Patrick Beverley’s swipe at Tyrese Haliburton goes viral after Game 5 win
Patrick Beverley thinks that Tyrese Haliburton tricks y’all.
Beverley and the Milwaukee Bucks, who were playing without both Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo, stole Game 5 from the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday, winning by the convincing final of 115-92. Milwaukee got a major contribution from Beverley, who finished with 13 points and 12 assists, also posting a game-high plus-minus of +36.
At one point in the first half, Beverley scored on the Pacers star Haliburton in the mid-post and hit Haliburton with the “too small” taunt.

After the big performance from Beverley, his quote about Haliburton from after Game 4, which the Pacers won 126-113, went viral.
“If I gave you the ball for 41 minutes, you would have ten assists also,” Beverley told a reporter of Haliburton, per ESPN.
Beverley was taking a swipe at Haliburton’s reputation as a playmaker. Haliburton led the NBA in assists this season with 10.9 of them per game. But Beverley clearly feels that was more the result of a high usage rate rather than effective play.
That is probably selling Haliburton way short, especially since he only finished 70th in the league this season with 32.2 minutes per game. But Beverley sure made himself look good in Game 5 by posting 12 assists in his 36 minutes to lead the Bucks to the stunning victory to extend the series (which Indiana still leads 3-2). That was classic shade too from Beverley, who is known for never sparing any opponent (even his former coaches).
