President Obama zings Michael Jordan over MJ’s Charlotte Hornets

President Obama golf

President Obama got back at Michael Jordan with a zinger of his own.

During an interview with Ahmad Rashad on “Back 9 Network,” MJ was asked to name his dream foursome for golf. His Airness mentioned Arnold Palmer and then President Obama, saying he’d like to golf with the president. But MJ reconsidered his Obama selection because the president is a “sh-tty golfer” and would hold up the group, MJ said.

Obama heard Jordan’s blast and responded to the basketball legend during an interview with Jammin’ 98.3 in Milwaukee on Tuesday. Host Earl Stokes asked Obama about Jordan’s golf trash talk, so the president responded.

“Mike and I, we know each other, but I’ve never played golf with him. I’ve played golf with Ahmad. Ahmad’s been my partner. Last time we played was against Alonzo Mourning and another friend, and we won both times.

“Michael wasn’t very well informed about this. I think he might have just been trying to give Ahmad an extra ratings boost on his show,” Obama joked.

“But there is no doubt that Michael’s a better golfer than I am. Of course, If I was playing twice a day for the last 15 years, then that might not be the case. He might want to spend more time thinking about the Bobcats or the Hornets, but that’s a whole other issue. I love the man, though. He brought (the Bulls) a lot of championships. He does like talking trash sometimes even when he doesn’t know what he’s talking about.”

That’s some nice trash talk in response by Obama! It’s true, too. Everyone knows Jordan plays a ton of golf; of course he’s going to be good at it. Or at least he should be.

You can listen to the interview below. The MJ part comes towards the end.
