The Houston Rockets already traded for Robert Covington, but now they could be in the market for another forward as well.
Rod Boone of The Athletic reported on Saturday that the Houston Rockets are among the potential destinations for former No. 2 overall pick Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, who was just bought out by the Charlotte Hornets. Boone also lists the Oklahoma City Thunder, the LA Clippers, and the Dallas Mavericks as other possibilities.
Kidd-Gilchrist would be a particularly interesting fit on the Rockets. While not much of a threat offensively, as a flexible 6-foot-7 defender, he fits the team’s new ethos of fast-paced small-ball like a glove.
The Rockets might not be the favorites to sign him, but he would certainly be an apt addition to a team in need of more depth to solidify their title hopes.
