The Philadelphia 76ers are set to work out some players on Thursday, and Spencer Hawes will be among them, according to a report.
Hawes, 31, has not played in the NBA since the 2016-17 season but will get an opportunity to work out for Philly, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports.
The 7-foot-1 big man played for the 76ers from 2010-2014. He was the No. 10 overall pick by the Sacramento Kings out of Washington in 2007 and mostly came off the bench as a rookie before developing into a starter. Hawes has averaged 8.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game during his NBA career.
Hawes spent last season with the Lakers’ G League team.
Philadelphia has 14 guaranteed contracts set for next season. ESPN’s Bobby Marks points out that Trey Burke would currently be their 15th player, though his guarantee increased after Oct. 23.
Philadelphia has 14 guaranteed contracts. Roster spot no. 15 right now belongs to Trey Burke. The guard has $405K guaranteed that will increase to $810K if he’s not waived by 10/23. https://t.co/Em5r4gXJxT

In addition to Hawes, Philly is taking a look at Joe Johnson, who has workout plans for other teams too.
