Stephen A. Smith was critical of LeBron James over his Hennessy ad.
James teased fans with a “second decision” post on social media this week. His promotion of something as being related to “The Decision” created a frenzy. The Decision referred to when James announced that he was leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers to sign with the Miami Heat. This time around, the “decision” was just an advertisement for Hennessy.
James pumping people up only to let them down by promoting an alcohol company did not sit well with many. Smith was among the people who were critical of James and said so while speaking on ESPN’s “First Take” on Tuesday.
“If you play like garbage at any point in time when it really really counts, I’m going to think about that Hennessy commercial and wonder if you were drinking something before the game,” Smith said.

That doesn’t reflect well for James.
Of course, there is some history being Smith and James. James confronted Smith previously over the media personalities comments about Bronny James. Smith now has no problem with calling out LeBron when he feels it is appropriate.
Even though he didn’t announce it this time, many people still feel like this may be James’ final season in the NBA. That announcement might not come until November.
