Tyrese Haliburton suffered what initially appeared to be a very serious injury on Monday night, but the Indiana Pacers star has since gotten some good news.

Haliburton has been diagnosed with a Grade 1 strain of his left hamstring, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports. The star guard will be reevaluated in two weeks, but the Pacers are said to be relieved.

Haliburton slipped while driving to the basket late in the first half of Indiana’s 133-131 win over the Boston Celtics. He fell into an awkward split and appeared to be in serious pain. The 23-year-old was carried off the court by teammates and had a towel draped over his head.

Fortunately, the injury was not as bad as it looked.

Haliburton is having an outstanding season. He is averaging 23.6 points, 12.5 assists and 4.2 rebounds per game. He even garnered the most votes among Eastern Conference guards in the first batch of 2024 All-Star Game fan votes.
