Jonathan Kuminga may want a trade to the Atlanta Falcons, too.
In what has been one of the most absurd shots of the 2025-26 NBA season, the Atlanta Hawks forward drained a shot from all the way the other side of the court as time expired in the third quarter of Wednesday night’s game against the Dallas Mavericks at American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.
After grabbing a rebound off a Dallas miss with under five seconds left in the period, Kuminga dribbled and attempted a pass downcourt to a wide-open Jock Landale. Kuminga miscalculated his throw, but it turned out for the better, as his pass went straight into the basket for a three-pointer, extending Atlanta’s lead to 19 points.
Here’s a video of that incredible basket.

If there was one play that told the Mavericks it wasn’t going to be their night, it was Kuminga’s lucky 75-foot heave that even broke a franchise record.
According to the Hawks, it was the longest made basket by an Atlanta player during the play-by-play era. The previous record was held by Jason Terry, who connected on a 63-foot bucket in a game in 2000.
The Hawks defeated Dallas, 135-120, with Kuminga scoring 16 points on 7/11 shooting off the bench.
