Eugenio Suarez linked to 3 teams in MLB free agency
The MLB free agency period has started to cool down ever since Kyle Tucker and Bo Bichette signed their new deals.
However, one big bat available is third baseman Eugenio Suarez. He spent the last portion of the 2025 season with the Seattle Mariners after being traded by the Arizona Diamondbacks.
On Tuesday, MLB insider Jon Heyman gave an update on Suarez’s free agency. He mentioned the Mariners in the discussions still, but he also named the Pittsburgh Pirates and Cincinnati Reds.
However, Heyman isn’t sure if the Mariners will do a long-term deal given their loaded group of prospects, but it is still an option for a reunion with the slugger.
Which teams are in on Eugenio Suárez? 🤔

(w/ @JonHeyman) pic.twitter.com/9hQFBaayKb
Suarez spent the 2022 and 2023 seasons with the Mariners, but he was traded to the Diamondbacks after the 2023 campaign, only to return this past season.
In 2025, Suarez hit .228 with 49 home runs and 119 RBIs combined between Arizona and Seattle. However, he became a Mariners legend after hitting a game-winning Grand Slam in Game 5 of the ALCS against the Toronto Blue Jays.
The Pirates have been active this offseason, and adding a power bat such as Suarez would make sense, and the Reds could also use an extra bat in hopes of competing in the National League Central with the Chicago Cubs and Milwaukee Brewers.
Ron Rivera interviewed for 1 NFL head coach opening
As of Tuesday, seven NFL head coach openings have been filled.
The last three left to be filled are the Arizona Cardinals, Cleveland browns and Las Vegas Raiders. And, surprisingly, former Washington Commanders and Carolina Panthers coach Ron Rivera interviewed for the Cardinals job, according to Dianna Russini of The Athletic.
This flew under the radar!
— Dianna Russini (@DMRussini) January 27, 2026
The Arizona Cardinals interviewed former Carolina Panthers and Washington Commanders head coach Ron Rivera in person for their head coaching vacancy, per source.
Rivera currently serves as the general manager for Cal football.
Rivera is a 2-time AP Coach of the Year who spent nine seasons with the Panthers, including taking them to the Super Bowl with Cam Newton.
Rivera then spent four seasons as the Commanders’ coach before being fired following the 2023 campaign. Rivera’s career record is 102-103-2 as a head coach, so he brings a lot of experience to the table.
On Tuesday, the Jacksonville Jaguars announced that defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile was returning to the team, and he had interviewed for the Cardinals HC job as well.
Rivera took the 2024 season off, but he landed a new job and was hired by the California football program to be the GM.
The Cardinals brought in Los Angeles Rams offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur for an interview, but adding Rivera to the mix is an interesting choice for the franchise.
It remains to be seen which direction the Cardinals go in, but there should be some clarity on the head coach front sometime in the near future.
Everyone said the same thing about Bill Belichick’s Hall of Fame snub
While it doesn’t seem real, long-time NFL head coach Bill Belichick will not be a first-ballot Hall of Famer.
A report surfaced on Tuesday stating that Belichick didn’t receive 40 of the 50 required votes to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
And, everyone had the same reaction to the surprising news.
Bill Belichick not being a first ballot Hall of Famer means that no coach should ever be. It means that the voters have decided there isn’t a coaching resume that warrants First Ballot consideration!
— Ryan Clark (@Realrclark25) January 27, 2026
He is the GREATEST, most ACCOMPLISHED coach of all time! This is egregious!
Seriously?!
— Bucky Brooks (@BuckyBrooks) January 27, 2026
By every metric, Bill Belichick is a first-ballot Hall of Famer. The fact that he wasn’t selected is more of a reflection of the voters than the coach. How can you respect the opinions of the “experts” when they blatantly disrespect legendary coach’s on-field… https://t.co/bZiqORYrkw
Absolutely shameful and ridiculous https://t.co/BseeQs6m1a
— Doug Kyed (@DougKyed) January 27, 2026
Regardless of your opinion of Bill Belichick, him not being a first ballot Hall of Famer is a disgrace — and a direct indictment on the Hall of Fame itself.
— Jordan Schultz (@Schultz_Report) January 27, 2026
Just an absolute joke. pic.twitter.com/TBuyVnbZAg
There is nobody more deserving of being first ballot, no coach with more Super Bowl wins or greater reverence for the history of the game. There should be public explanation from those failing to vote for him. https://t.co/Wojlncevzq
— Ed Werder (@WerderEdNFL) January 27, 2026
Say what you want about him as UNC's coach, but the man should've been a first-ballot NFL HOFer. This is ridiculous. https://t.co/ca3qH24fOV

It wasn’t just fans and NFL insiders, or reporters, but Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was also puzzled by Belichick’s exclusion.
Insane… don’t even understand how this could be possible https://t.co/EiKUeRPffn
— Patrick Mahomes II (@PatrickMahomes) January 27, 2026
Former Super Bowl-winning head coach Jimmy Johnson also let his feelings be known.

— Jimmy Johnson (@JimmyJohnson) January 27, 2026
Belichick has six Super Bowl wins as a head coach with the Patriots and he had another two as a defensive coordinator with the New York Giants.
Belichick has the most playoff wins and Super Bowl wins of any NFL head coach, and he is second on the all-time wins list behind only Don Shula, so there is no reason why he shouldn’t be a first-ballot Hall of Famer.
The ESPN report stated that Spygate and Deflategate were issues with some Hall of Fame voters, but still, a six-time Super Bowl-winning head coach not being a first-ballot choice is shocking.
Reason Bill Belichick denied by Hall of Fame voters revealed
Bill Belichick was not inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame during his first appearance on the ballot, causing much confusion — and anger from some. Belichick is one of the greatest NFL coaches in history, and his six Super Bowls as a head coach are unmatched.
So why did Belichick fall short of the 80 percent vote threshold needed for induction? It all comes back to the Spygate and Deflategate scandals.
According to an article published by ESPN on Tuesday, the scandals that surrounded the Patriots’ dynasty run under Belichick came up during deliberations by the voters. Many voters were “bothered” by the scandals involving the teams.
Bill Polian, who is a supporter of Patriots owner Robert Kraft and was a rival GM for the Colts, reportedly felt Belichick should have to wait a year before being inducted as penance for the scandals.
To refresh your memory, “Spygate” was a scandal exposed by former Patriots assistant coach Eric Mangini. He said the Patriots had illegally filmed opposing teams to gain advantages. The “Deflategate” scandal revolved around the Patriots allegedly using complex schemes to deflate footballs beyond the legal limit in order to fit Tom Brady’s preference.
One item to note is that Belichick being blocked for a year could come at a time when Kraft gets inducted, which would give the team owner a leg up in a rivalry between the two.
Bill Belichick gets denied by Hall of Fame voters
Bill Belichick has six Super Bowl victories as a head coach and two more as a coordinator.
Yet, Belichick is not a first-ballot Hall of Famer in a stunning surprise, according to a report from Don Van Natta Jr. and Seth Wickersham of ESPN.
It was Belichick’s first time being on the ballot, but he reportedly fell short of the 40 out of 50 votes needed to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
The ESPN report stated that Belichick received a call on Friday with the news, and the longtime head coach was “puzzled” and “disappointed” by the decision.
Belichick’s resume is no doubt Hall of Fame worthy. He boasts a 333-178 career record, including the playoffs, and sits second in all-time wins behind Don Shula (347).
According to the report, the infamous Spygate and Deflategate scandals were discussed during the process, with one voter even saying that it “really bothered some of the guys.”
Belichick has nine Super Bowl trips as a head coach with six victories, and he has the most Super Bowl wins and the most playoff wins of any NFL head coach in history.
The other semifinalists this year in the coaching category were Tom Coughlin, Mike Holmgren, Chuck Knox, Buddy Parker, Dan Reeves, Marty Schottenheimer, George Seifert and Mike Shanahan.
Belichick spent the 2025 season as the head coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels, although the year ended with a disappointing 4-8 record.
Nonetheless, Belichick not making it into the Hall of Fame is a shocking decision.
JJ Watt has harsh reaction to the Bill Belichick news
Count J.J. Watt among those who were stunned by the Bill Belichick news on Tuesday.
Word emerged Tuesday that Belichick had been denied by the Pro Football Hall of Fame voters. The legendary former New England Patriots head coach fell short of the 40 of 50 votes he needed to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. It was his first time on the ballot, and his six Super Bowl rings as a head coach apparently weren’t enough.
I can’t be reading this right.
— JJ Watt (@JJWatt) January 27, 2026
This has to be some knock-off Hall of Fame or something, it can’t be the actual NFL Hall of Fame.
There is not a single world whatsoever in which Bill Belichick should not be a First-Ballot Hall of Famer. https://t.co/OXhL1Sd4FM
“I can’t be reading this right. This has to be some knock-off Hall of Fame or something, it can’t be the actual NFL Hall of Fame. There is not a single world whatsoever in which Bill Belichick should not be a First-Ballot Hall of Famer,” Watt wrote in a post on X.
It’s hard to imagine what happened with the vote regarding Belichick. He has won a record six Super Bowls as a head coach, and he won two more as a defensive coordinator with the New York Giants. He also was recognized as an AP Coach of the Year three times during his career.
Belichick, of course, was surly with the media at times. He also had moments that rubbed people the wrong way, such as resigning as head coach of the New York Jets after just one day. He also has drawn negative attention for his brief tenure at North Carolina, as well as his relationship with Jordon Hudson. Still, none of that would seem to legitimately explain why he would be anything other than a sure-thing Hall of Fame inductee.
How did this happen? If any time a revote were needed, it’s now.
Broncos fire coach days after AFC Championship Game loss
The Denver Broncos saw their playoff run come to a crushing end with a 10-7 loss to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game at Empower Field in Denver, Colo.
Now, head coach Sean Payton is making a change as offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi has been fired after three seasons on the job in Denver.
The #Broncos fired OC Joe Lombardi, per me and @TomPelissero.
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) January 27, 2026
Lombardi and Payton go way back, even before their days together in Denver.
Payton said he was “fortunate to work with Joe Lombardi for 15 years” in a statement on the team website.
Lombardi was with the New Orleans Saints in various roles beginning as an offensive assistant in 2007. He then became the quarterbacks coach from 2009 until 2013 before leaving to become the Detroit Lions’ OC.
Payton then brought Lombardi back to New Orleans to be the QBs coach again from 2016 until 2020, but he was hired by the Los Angeles Chargers to be the OC in 2021.
On the other hand, QBs coach Davis Webb has been a popular head coach candidate this cycle, and he recently interviewed with the Buffalo Bills and Las Vegas Raiders. The Bills hired Joe Brady, taking them out of the running for Webb. Webb also interviewed for the Baltimore Ravens OC job, so the young Broncos QBs coach has received lots of interest, suggesting he could be in line for a promotion with them.
Shortly after the news of Lombardi’s firing, the Broncos announced the decision to fire wide receivers coach Keary Colbert and cornerbacks coach Addison Lynch.
The Broncos offense ranked in the middle of the pack in several categories, including 14th in points per game and 17th in passing yards per game.
Kevin Stefanski addresses criticism from Baker Mayfield
New Atlanta Falcons head coach Kevin Stefanski is taking the high road when it comes to comments recently made by Baker Mayfield.
Mayfield publicly blasted Stefanski last week when the former Cleveland Browns quarterback fired back at a writer who said Stefanski never had good quarterbacks in Cleveland. The current Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback alleged that Stefanski never reached out to speak to him after he “got shipped off like a piece of garbage,” by Cleveland. Mayfield also said he was looking forward to facing the Falcons twice a year in the NFC South.
Unsurprisingly, Stefanski was not willing to pour any fuel on the situation Tuesday when he was introduced as the new Falcons coach. He essentially said he enjoyed the idea of a rivalry, but had nothing but positive things to say about Mayfield.
“I love rivalries. I would not get into the specifics of those hype of things other than to say I have a ton of respect for Baker as a player and a person,” Stefanski said.
Kevin Stefanski on Baker Mayfield's comments: "I love rivalries. I would not get into the specifics of those hype of things other than to say I have a ton of respect for Baker as a player and a person."
— Josh Kendall (@JoshTheAthletic) January 27, 2026
Mayfield spent two seasons playing for Stefanski in Cleveland. They went 11-5 together and made the playoffs in 2020, but the Browns quickly moved on from Mayfield after acquiring Deshaun Watson one year later. That trade turned into a disaster for the Browns, while Mayfield re-established himself as a legitimate playoff-caliber starter with the Buccaneers.
Mayfield has never been shy about making it personal with people he thinks have wronged him in the past. The whole situation wound up working out for him, but he is still going to use his history with Stefanski to fuel him.
Mike McDaniel had a brutally honest comment about joining the Chargers
Mike McDaniel was officially introduced as the new offensive coordinator of the Los Angeles Chargers on Tuesday, and he made a brutally honest comment about his new employers.
McDaniel coached against the Chargers last season when they beat his Miami Dolphins 29-27 in Week 6. The Charger offense was excellent that day, with quarterback Justin Herbert throwing for 264 yards and wide receiver Ladd McConkey catching seven passes for 100 yards and a touchdown.
McDaniel mentioned that game on Tuesday, and admitted that he was guilty of an old adage.
“If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em, I guess,” McDaniel conceded.

“If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em, I guess.” https://t.co/lLjaCmdmaH pic.twitter.com/UJx9eaPJmU
McDaniel, of course, was fired by the Dolphins, so he had little choice but to join ’em in this case. Herbert and McConkey are two figures who should certainly benefit from his presence, though.
Though he got a few looks as a head coach, McDaniel was hotly pursued as an offensive coordinator candidate by a number of teams. The Chargers were the ones that successfully lured him in, and he will be tasked with adding a new layer to the team’s offense in 2026.
Mike Vrabel addresses the Drake Maye injury rumors
New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel is not tipping his hand when it comes to suggestions that quarterback Drake Maye suffered some sort of injury during the AFC Championship game.
Speculation about Maye has been fueled partly by comments on X from David J. Chao, who posts under the username ProFootballDoc. Chao claimed that Maye suffered some sort of injury to his right throwing shoulder against the Broncos.
The rumors spread enough online that Vrabel was asked about the topic in an appearance on WEEI Tuesday, and the coach was not giving much away.
“There’s not a player on our team that’s 100% healthy,” Vrabel said.
The coach added that the Patriots would put out an injury report, but downplayed that Maye was dealing with anything significant.
The NFL has strict rules about reporting injuries, so there is only so much Vrabel can say. Maye went just 10/21 for 86 yards in the AFC Championship, but that had as much to do with the weather as it did anything else.
Maye was healthy enough to fool everyone, including his offensive line, on one of the game’s biggest plays. The chances of him missing the Super Bowl are miniscule.
Coco Gauff destroyed her racquet after losing at Australian Open
Coco Gauff got hammered in the Australian Open on Tuesday night and lost in straight sets to Elina Svitolina, and she was not happy about it.
Gauff got steamrolled 6-1, 6-2 by Svitolina in their quarterfinal match in Melbourne, Australia. Gauff was so upset with herself after her 59-minute defeat that she smashed her racquet in the indoor area ahead of the locker room.

She looked ticked off — understandably so.
Gauff reached the semifinals at the Australian Open in 2024 and now has lost in the quarterfinals twice in a row since then. She won the French Open last year and will be looking to defend that title in four months.
Gauff was inexplicably off on Tuesday night and served poorly; she didn’t even hold serve once in the first set, while committing multiple double faults. She committed 26 unforced errors, and had just three winners.
Darian Mensah’s transfer controversy has been resolved
The Duke Blue Devils have finally sorted things out with quarterback Darian Mensah.
Mensah and the Blue Devils agreed to a settlement on Tuesday, according to Pete Thamel of ESPN. The agreement will allow Mensah to transfer to the Miami Hurricanes, as he had hoped to do.
The settlement between Duke and Darian Mensah paves the way for his expected transfer to Miami, per sources. That'd been his expected destination since he entered the NCAA transfer portal.
— Pete Thamel (@PeteThamel) January 27, 2026
Mensah had entered the transfer portal just before it closed two weeks ago, with Miami as his intended destination. Duke promptly took legal action to try to enforce the multiyear NIL contract he had signed with the school.
Terms of the settlement were not disclosed, but Duke said in a statement that the agreement addressed their primary concerns.
The entire saga ends with a clear win for Miami, which will replace Carson Beck with one of the country’s top quarterbacks. Mensah threw for 3,973 passing yards and 34 touchdowns for Duke in 2025, and was an All-ACC selection. His presence should ensure that the Hurricanes remain one of the nation’s top programs and have a chance to get back to the national title game next year.
Duke, on the other hand, has a lot of work to do. Mensah had initially told the school that he intended to stay, and the Blue Devils were planning on that right up until he changed his mind.
Mike McCarthy reveals whether he wants Aaron Rodgers back with Steelers
Mike McCarthy was officially introduced as the new head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers on Tuesday, and he shed some light on whom his quarterback might be in 2026.
McCarthy was asked if he is interested in bringing Aaron Rodgers back for another season. The new Steelers coach said he has already spoken with Rodgers and is “definitely” interested in having the quarterback return, but understands that Rodgers needs time to make that decision.
Mike McCarthy on if he'd like Aaron Rodgers back: "Definitely. I don't see why you wouldn't."
— Mike DeFabo (@MikeDeFabo) January 27, 2026
He has already spoken with Aaron. Said that he also understands the importance of time away before the QB makes a decision.
While the Steelers did not hire McCarthy to get Rodgers to come back, the coach’s presence could be a perk. McCarthy is seen as perhaps the only coach Rodgers might be willing to return for owing to their shared history with the Green Bay Packers.
The quarterback situation will be one of the key things for McCarthy to figure out now that he has the Pittsburgh job. The Steelers appear to like rookie Will Howard, but it might be a stretch to turn the franchise over to him next season. The Steelers are open about not wanting to rebuild, and keeping Rodgers around for one more year might be the easiest way to avoid that.
Rodgers threw for 3,322 yards with 24 touchdowns and 7 interceptions for the Steelers last season. He led them to a playoff berth, though they were smothered by the Houston Texans in the AFC Wild Card round.
Sean Payton had a warning for his highly-touted assistant coach
Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton does not want to see one of his coveted assistants leave for a division rival.
Broncos quarterbacks coach Davis Webb is a candidate for the Las Vegas Raiders head coach job, where he would have to face his former boss and the Broncos twice a year. Payton jokingly cautioned Webb against making such a move during his press conference on Tuesday.
“Well, it would be a pain in the a– for him,” Payton said.
#Broncos HC Sean Payton on if Davis Webb gets the Raiders job in the AFC West: "Well, it would be a pain in the ass for him." pic.twitter.com/h7K6oquSeH
— Ari Meirov (@MySportsUpdate) January 27, 2026
Webb certainly has the look of a rising star in NFL coaching circles. Though he is only 31 and has never been a coordinator, he has been looked at by multiple teams as a legitimate head coaching candidate. While he may be destined for bigger and better things, Payton would want to hold on to him for as long as possible.
The Raiders had actually won eight straight meetings against Denver up until last season, with the Broncos now winning four straight. Payton would love to keep that rivalry right where it is at the moment.
Brian Daboll lands a new offensive coordinator job
Former New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll has landed a new job.
Daboll plans to accept the Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator job, according to multiple reports. ESPN’s Adam Schefter adds that the move is contingent on Daboll not landing the Las Vegas Raiders head coach job, for which he remains a candidate.
ESPN sources: The Titans are now set to hire former Giants head coach Brian Daboll as their offensive coordinator, contingent upon him not getting the Raiders head coaching job. pic.twitter.com/mvdUyX81fv
— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) January 27, 2026
Daboll was clearly intrigued by the opportunity to work alongside Cam Ward. He had been hoping to land the Buffalo Bills job, but they decided instead to promote their current offensive coordinator Joe Brady on Tuesday. Daboll seemingly made his mind up quite quickly after that.
Though Daboll’s time in New York ended poorly, he still has a solid reputation as an offensive coordinator. In addition to mentoring Josh Allen, he and the Giants reached the playoffs with Daniel Jones, and he has an extensive track record of success in terms of improving offenses. He should also have playcalling duties in Tennessee with new coach Robert Saleh primarily focused on the defense.
This is another setback for the Philadelphia Eagles, who had been eyeing Daboll to fill their offensive coordinator vacancy. At this point, it is highly unclear which direction they will choose to go in.
Bills have hired a new head coach
The Buffalo Bills are sticking with an internal hire as their new head coach.
The Bills are promoting offensive coordinator Joe Brady to their head coaching position, according to multiple reports. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that he is signing a 5-year deal.
Joe Brady is signing a five-year deal with Buffalo. https://t.co/jWkAxu03mO
— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) January 27, 2026
After boldly firing Sean McDermott following their exit from the AFC Divisional round, the Bills are opting for a rather conservative hire in Brady. The 36-year-old has been Buffalo’s offensive coordinator since 2023, though he has won plenty of plaudits for his work with Josh Allen. We already know Allen is a big fan of his, and that likely made a difference as well.
Brady has been eyed as a potential head coach for other teams as well, including during this hiring cycle. He will immediately face very high expectations, as his predecessor was fired despite making the playoffs eight times in nine seasons at the helm.
Still, Brady feels like a safe option after the bold decision to fire McDermott. The team definitely looked into some unorthodox options, but are evidently betting on Brady’s offensive acumen and a level of continuity to keep the organization moving in the right direction.
Cooper Kupp credits ‘scriptwriters’ for his Super Bowl journey
Cooper Kupp is looking for the perfect ending to his first season with the Seattle Seahawks.
That has yet to be written, as the world awaits the winner of Super Bowl LX between the Seahawks and the New England Patriots, but what’s already in the books at least is Seattle’s playoff victory over Kupp’s former team, the Los Angeles Rams.
Talking to reporters on Monday, the 32-year-old credited that part of his journey to the “scriptwriters,” who he said “did a great job” of setting up the story of him beating his former club while playing for his hometown team, via Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic.
Of course, Kupp was simply joking with that statement, but the Seahawks’ 31-27 win in the NFC Championship game over the Rams was nonetheless one of the most compelling games in the 2025 NFL campaign.
Kupp, who won a Super Bowl before with the Rams, only had 36 receiving yards on 4 catches and 6 targets versus Los Angeles, but one of his receptions was for a touchdown that extended Seattle’s lead to 11 points with under five minutes left in the fourth quarter.
After spending his first eight seasons in the NFL with the Rams, Kupp decided to take his talents to LA’s NFC West rivals Seahawks by signing a 3-year, $45 million contract with Seattle in March 2025.
Fans have mixed reactions to Brooks Koepka’s interaction with Billy Horschel
Brooks Koepka is back in the arms of the PGA Tour.
After leaving the Saudi Arabian-backed LIV Golf in December and successfully getting his PGA Tour membership back, the five-time major champion is ready to give it a go at the 2025 Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego, Calif.
On Monday, Koepka got a warm welcome from fellow PGA Tour pro Bill Horschel amid their preparation for the upcoming tournament, which begins on Thursday.

Koepka missed the cut in each of his last two PGA Tour starts, which were both major events. He failed to make the weekend at the 2025 PGA Championship and suffered the same fate at the Masters Tournament of the same year, but those are all behind him now, as he embarks on a new golf journey.
Ranked 255th in the world, Koepka can notch his 10th career PGA Tour win if he tops the field at the Farmers Insurance Open. However, he has made the cut just once in four appearances at the event.
Diego Pavia responds to chatter about his real height
Diego Pavia has big dreams of playing in the NFL, but he might not have the size to fulfill that goal.
On Monday, the Vanderbilt Commodores quarterback’s height was measured at just 5-foot-9 and 7/8 inches at the Senior Bowl. That means Pavia is inches smaller than his listed height on Vanderbilt’s official website, which states that he stands 6 feet.
The Heisman Trophy runner-up has been ridiculed online because of the disparity between his listed and actual height, but that is not stopping Pavia from pursuing his mission to make it to the NFL.
“My size has been doubted my whole life,” Pavia said, via Zac Jackson of The Athletic. “Only thing the NFL cares about is can you win?”
Pavia knows his height will be a major talking point when it comes to convincing NFL scouts that he has a future in the league. In any case, he is determined to prove that his size will not hinder him from having success in the pros.
“Whatever organization I go to, they’re gonna get what I’ve got and now. Whoever takes a chance on me, they’re gonna win,” guaranteed Pavia, via Jackson.
Pavia, who will turn 24 years old on Feb. 16, threw for 3,539 passing yards and 29 touchdowns against 8 interceptions on a 70.6% completion rate in 13 games with the Commodores during the 2025 college football season.
Video of Luka Doncic’s East Bay dunk emerges
Luka Doncic is an elite shot creator, but he’s not necessarily someone who plays above the rim.
Still, he reminded his teammates and some reporters on Monday that he once pulled off an East Bay dunk as a teenager.
The topic was brought up while Lakers forward Jake LaRavia was talking about LA big man Jaxson Hayes’ between-the-legs dunk late in the game against the Chicago Bulls at the United Center in Chicago, Ill.
“I did it when I was a teen … I have a video!” Doncic can be heard in the background saying, via Dave McMenamin of ESPN.
It did not take long before McMenamin found video evidence that proves Doncic’s claim.
Here’s a young Doncic showing his hops for his version of the East Bay throwdown.

Doncic has gotten bigger and heavier since he made that dunk, but he doesn’t need to get up that high to embarrass opponents.
The Bulls know all about it after the former NBA scoring champion lit them up on Monday for 46 points on a 15-of-25 shooting, including 8 triples, while adding 12 assists and 7 rebounds to help the Lakers notch a 129-118 victory.
As a bonus, the 26-year-old Doncic became the only Lakers player ever besides Kobe Bryant to score at least 45 points, record at least 10 assists, and make at least five 3-pointers in a game.
