Diego Pavia has big dreams of playing in the NFL, but he might not have the size to fulfill that goal.
On Monday, the Vanderbilt Commodores quarterback’s height was measured at just 5-foot-9 and 7/8 inches at the Senior Bowl. That means Pavia is inches smaller than his listed height on Vanderbilt’s official website, which states that he stands 6 feet.
The Heisman Trophy runner-up has been ridiculed online because of the disparity between his listed and actual height, but that is not stopping Pavia from pursuing his mission to make it to the NFL.
“My size has been doubted my whole life,” Pavia said, via Zac Jackson of The Athletic. “Only thing the NFL cares about is can you win?”
Pavia knows his height will be a major talking point when it comes to convincing NFL scouts that he has a future in the league. In any case, he is determined to prove that his size will not hinder him from having success in the pros.
“Whatever organization I go to, they’re gonna get what I’ve got and now. Whoever takes a chance on me, they’re gonna win,” guaranteed Pavia, via Jackson.
Pavia, who will turn 24 years old on Feb. 16, threw for 3,539 passing yards and 29 touchdowns against 8 interceptions on a 70.6% completion rate in 13 games with the Commodores during the 2025 college football season.
