
Not long after having harsh words for Floyd Mayweather in a video, Adrien Broner was already downplaying his beef with the undefeated boxer.
Mayweather and Broner used to be close, with the Cincinnati native considered Floyd’s protege. That went out the window in the fall when they traded shots. The distance between them only grew with Broner set to fight Floyd’s boxer Ashley Theofane in April.
But a day after publishing his video where he got emotional talking about Floyd, Broner downplayed his beef with Mayweather.

At one point I wondered whether this controversy was manufactured by the two men to help drum up interest for the April 1 fight. We certainly couldn’t put it past them given how creative they are. But Broner’s emotions in his video seemed authentic, and I think this is his way of trying to backtrack.
