Boxer Mick Conlan taken to hospital after being knocked out of ring
Boxer Mick Conlan was taken to a hospital on Saturday night after falling out of the ring in a knockout loss to Leigh Wood.
Conlan lost to Wood via 12th round TKO in their WBA featherweight title fight at Nottingham Arena on Saturday night. Wood was knocked down in the first but got revenge by knocking down Conlan in the 11th.

Then the finisher came when the fight was stopped in the 12th after Conlan fell out of the ring following a big punch from Wood.

Conlan falling out of the ring made for a scary scene. But boxing reporter Nick Peet said that the 30-year-old fighter was awake and responsive backstage. Peet also shared that Conlan was being transported to a hospital, where he was conscious.

The defeat was the first for Conlan, who is now 16-1 (8 KOs). Wood improves to 26-2 (16 KOs).
