Boxer Nicolas Pablo Demario bit opponent during fight
Nicolas Pablo Demario pulled a Mike Tyson in the ring on Saturday … and definitely not in a good way.
The junior welterweight boxer Demario inexplicably took a bite out of his opponent Josue Vargas as if he was McGruff the Crime Dog. During the fifth round of their fight on the Miguel Berchelt-Jeremiah Nakathila undercard, Demario blatantly chomped down on Vargas’s right shoulder. Take a look.

Even more head-scratching was that Demario was actually winning the fight at the time. He had knocked Vargas down twice by that point and was on track to win the round 10-8. Demario was deducted a point for the bite though, resulting in a 9-8 round.
Vargas went on to win the eight-round bout by unanimous decision. Two judges scored it 76-74 for Vargas, and the third had it 76-73 for Vargas.
The Tyson comparisons are sure to come out in full force after Demario’s Dracula moment here. But Demario will have a hard time replicating Tyson’s success at profiting from the bite.
