Just in case Mexican boxing fans didn’t already love Canelo Alvarez, he did what he needed to to ensure they would become fans on Saturday night.
Not only did Canelo destroy Amir Khan with a glorious right hand that knocked him out cold in the sixth (watch here), but then he delivered a few more crushing blows in the postfight interview.
After winning the bout, Canelo invited GGG Gennady Golovkin into the ring. The two have been going back and forth about a potential fight, so naturally HBO’s Max Kellerman asked about a bout between them.

“I invited him to come to the ring,” Alvarez said. “Like we say in Mexico, we didn’t f— around. We don’t fight for belts and stuff like that. I don’t fear anyone. We don’t come to play in this sport — I don’t fear anyone.”
You can hear his actual quotes in the interview below. He says all that including the “mamadas” line in Spanish that had the crowd and Oscar De La Hoya laughing.
"Hay que dejarnos de mamadas ". Looks like wile got a fight folks. #CaneloGGG pic.twitter.com/cluEwpdybc

Let me just say this: Canelo is one likable dude. His appeal — especially to Mexican boxing fans who like traditional tough guys — is off the charts. Now he just needs to put the weight issue aside to fight GGG.
