The rematch between Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin was officially announced on Monday, and who better to announce the news for HBO than star of the channel’s show, “Ballers”?
That’s right, HBO had The Rock announce the news of the Canelo-GGG rematch, which is set for May 5. During his announcement, The Rock guaranteed that there would not be a draw in the second fight between the two:
We knew this day would come when two of the best in their field, possibly ever, met face to face and delivered an epic performance that didn’t have a resolution. I’m honored and fired up to announce this rematch…@HBO @canelo @gggboxing #CaneloGGG2 #ItAintGonnaBeAnotherDraw pic.twitter.com/fYCoiqxacB

Fans will hope there isn’t a draw in this one. Many believed the September bout between the men was close, with Golovkin potentially holding the slight advantage. However, one judge scored it in Canelo’s extreme favor, leading to a draw.
We can only hope the second fight actually produces a winner.
ESPN’s Dan Rafael says that T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Madison Square Garden in New York, and AT&T Stadium in Arlington are the three potential venues for the fight.
