Joey Logano was not happy with Ross Chastain Sunday after the two got tangled up during the Grant Park 165 in Chicago.
Logano accused Chastain of wrecking him intentionally during Sunday’s race with 12 laps to go. Based on Logano’s in-car camera, Chastain seemingly felt that Logano hit him, though Logano actually went into Chastain thanks to contact from Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
That did not matter to Chastain, who seemed to retaliate.
Nope. It seems Chastain felt like Logano got into him, but it was Stenhouse, Jr. pushing Joey into Ross. Ross retaliated and hit Joey. At the same time, he took out Stenhouse, Jr so he got 2 birds with one stone?#NASCAR | #NASCARonTNT | #GrantPark165🟨 https://t.co/FFxJDRmdtK pic.twitter.com/Rlt2GvaXvs

Logano was fuming on his car radio, which included a profanity-laced tirade against Chastain. He was still fired up about the incident after the race. Video emerged of him angrily confronting Chastain after the checkered flag.

In a post-race interview, Logano outright accused Chastain of wrecking him on purpose.
“He admitted it, which means he should get fined if he admittedly wrecked someone on purpose. That’s not okay,” Logano said. “Typical Ross. He just sees red and does dumb stuff. That’s twice this year on road courses at the end of these things I’ve been tossed by Ross.”

Logano has a short fuse at times, but Chastain is no stranger to controversy either. In this instance, one can certainly understand Logano’s frustration.
Shane van Gisbergen wound up winning Sunday’s race. Chastain finished tenth, while Logano came in one spot behind him at No. 11.
